My Bio

Christopher Elder was born in Defiance, OH and lives currently in Paulding. He is running for State Representative in OH-82 as a Libertarian because he believes in your personal freedoms. As Representative, Christopher intends to bring the various voices that make up our district together in Columbus. Our rural schools are facing funding cuts, mental health crises are in need of attention, and Ohioans in general are facing the difficulties of the current cost of living. It's time to address these concerns.

Christopher is a devout Christian who believes in compassion, community, and loving your neighbor as yourself. This has greatly impacted him to hear the stories of people around him and learn that listening (followed by action) is the key to change.

After spending years working at Menards, and a brief stint in the world of Information Technology, Christopher has spent the last three years as a Family Teacher at the Marsh Foundation in Van Wert, Ohio. In his work, Christopher helps shape behaviors of boys in a group home setting. By addressing their needs, spending countless hours in extensive treatment, and utilizing the Teaching Family Model, family teachers help boys overcome their behavioral challenges and return to their homes empowered to shape their future in Ohio communities. Christopher earned the Marsh Foundation's first Practitioner of the Year Award in 2025 for his dedication to the mission of teaching and inspiring hope to children and their families. This same level of dedication and commitment to the Marsh Foundation will not be lost on citizens of OH-82 when Christopher heads to the Statehouse.

My Key Issues

Ranked Choice Voting

Ohioans deserve a fair slate of options without having to feel pressured to vote for the "lesser of two evils." To support Ohio voters, I will push for Ranked Choice Voting to ensure more choices are accessible to you.

Affordable and accessible healthcare

People deserve to be taken care of. My experience in the behavioral health sector has lead me to see the burdens that Ohio's healthcare options have caused.

Community involvement in decision-making

Aren't you tired of hearing about the decisions made in Columbus, largely without your input? Let's change the game and put more decisions in the hands of local communities.
